Set up apps and browsers after installing them

An app is rarely at its best straight after installation. Decide what you want to keep separate — tasks, accounts or profiles — before changing settings, and verify installers and ISO files against the publisher’s own values before running them.

Before choosing a task

  1. Decide what the app needs to keep separate: workloads, accounts or profiles.
  2. Download from the official site and, where published, compare the hash with the publisher’s value.
  3. After changing settings, run one real task through the app and check where its files are saved.
