Work with reference, draft and notes
Try FancyZones alone for reference, draft and notes. If three columns make text unreadable, use two columns or unequal widths. Judge usability, not merely snapping success.
- Enable FancyZones, open its layout editor and select the intended monitor.
- Select a three-column template or adjust a custom Grid for readable widths.
- Test snapping a normal Notepad window with Shift-drag and the highlighted zone.
- Place the other windows, inspect readability and compare two columns if cramped.
- Turn FancyZones off when unnecessary and restore any overridden Snap-key setting.

Use it safely
PowerToys with normal permissions may not work on apps run as an administrator. You can disable each utility individually, and check separate conditions for AI functions, etc.

Turn it off or restore settings
