Drag the unnecessary section with the selection tool, play the selected part, and press Delete. Play before and after the boundary, and if there is a truncated word or click sound, check Ctrl+Z to go back and select again.

Select [File] > [Export Audio], choose MP3 or WAV, set the range to [Entire Project], and save under a new name. Listen to the complete file in an external player.

Compare deletion with silencing

Delete a selected passage when the following audio should move earlier. Consider silencing instead when later sounds must retain their timing. For a spoken correction, repeatedly listen across the cut and leave a natural pause. Alternate playback with range adjustments so a visually small waveform does not cause you to remove a needed consonant.

For narration, listen to the full recording and mark cuts before editing them individually. Check meaning across each join. Removing every pause can reduce clarity, so retain appropriate breaks between ideas. Verify the exported file separately from playback in the editing window.

If a join clicks, adjust its boundary slightly and listen again, then try a short fade if needed. Avoid weakening the beginning or end of a word with an excessive fade. With multiple tracks, check which sounds need to move together so a cut in one track does not break synchronization. Adjust length through cuts and pauses at normal playback speed instead of using a speed change as a repair.

Check export range and the finished audio

At export, confirm whether the range is the entire project or only the current selection. Check the resulting duration and play the beginning, cut points, and end to catch an accidental partial export. Saving the project preserves editable work; exporting WAV or MP3 creates a delivery file in a separate step. Keep the original recording and project and create a separate output in the format the destination requires.
