The least expensive plan carrying the Microsoft 365 name may not include desktop Word and Excel. Check the full plan name, including Basic, and compare plans that actually include the installed applications you need.
Office 2024 also varies by edition. The Japanese product listing includes Outlook with Home & Business, and the Japanese Store specifies two Windows PCs or Macs. Device allowances are regional purchase conditions; do not apply the allowance from another country to your own order.

Compare a common time horizon and renewal work
Choose a planning period, such as three years. Compare subscription payments during that period with the Office 2024 purchase plus any separately needed storage. The period is a budgeting assumption, not a promise about future prices or upgrade purchases. Count benefits only when you will actually use them.
