  • People who want to check the storage location and safety of data while reducing manual work

What you need

  • Check the processing target and storage location, and preserve the original data in another location
  • Check the official distribution source, supported OS, and required permissions

When to use it

Consolidate Markdown notes, checklists, and Web Clipper into notebooks and make them exportable.

Install the official version

Install it from Desktop Apps on joplinapp.org, and first check the notebook, save destination, and sync destination.

  1. Install from Desktop Apps on joplinapp.org and first check the notebook, save destination, and sync destination.

Try it

Create a save destination using [New Notebook] and add notes and attachments. Back up notes, tags, and attachments by selecting [File] → [Export All] → [JEX].

  1. Create a save destination using [New Notebook] and add notes and attachments.
  2. Back up notes, tags, and attachments by selecting [File] → [Export All] → [JEX].

Use it safely

For synchronization, go to [Tools] → [Options] → [Sync] and explicitly set Joplin Cloud, WebDAV, etc. Sync is not a replacement for JEX backups as it also reflects deletions.

Turn it off or restore settings

When you do not use Joplin, first stop the resident, automatic start, and synchronization settings in the app. Restore the association from Windows' [Default Apps], check the location of the created data, and then uninstall it.

  1. Complete or explicitly stop ongoing processing and close the creation
  2. Cancel automatic startup, monitoring, synchronization, and browser linkage in app settings
  3. Export the necessary settings and data and delete them from the OS application management

Limitations and requirements

  • For synchronization, go to [Tools] → [Options] → [Sync] and explicitly set Joplin Cloud, WebDAV, etc. Sync is not a replacement for JEX backups as it also reflects deletions.

Frequently asked questions
