Causes and conditions

Local game files are missing, damaged or differ from distributed files. Some games using an additional launcher cannot be verified through Epic.

Step-by-step instructions

    Confirm the game and error

    Open Epic Games Launcher and confirm the game appears in Library. Record LS-0014 as a missing referenced file or directory, or IS-FC02-1392 as a damaged-file error.

    Exit Epic Games Launcher from its notification-area icon, then restart it. In Library on the left, confirm the game and complete error code. If the code changes, switch to its official instructions.

    Open Manage

    In Library, select the three-dot menu on the game's entry, then Manage. If downloading or updating, confirm it has completed or stopped before proceeding.

    Change only the stated location, such as the game's three-dot menu in Library or the launcher's shortcut Properties. Do not manually delete the game, saves or manifests in File Explorer.

    Start verification

    Select Verify Files or Verify. Checking all files can take time; keep the launcher running until it reports completion.

    Epic changes or repairs differing files. Let any subsequent download finish too.

    During processing, open Downloads at the lower left and wait for verification, replacement downloads and prerequisite installation to finish. Limit administrator execution to one diagnostic attempt, and check folder permissions before making it permanent.

    If the Verify button is missing

    If Verify or automatic updates are unavailable and the game needs an additional launcher such as Ubisoft Connect or EA app, update and verify through that native launcher. A missing Epic feature does not by itself indicate a fault.

    Restart the launcher with normal permissions and try the same game or installation once. On success, confirm launching and updating also work without elevation. On failure, save launcher logs and the time of occurrence.

    After verification, launch the game and retest the same save or scene. If LS-0014 persists, investigate background-app interference before considering reinstallation as a later step.
